We don't publish content on GOV.UK using a questions and answers format.
Why we prefer not to use FAQs
The reasons are:
- FAQs are difficult for users to read
- they do not perform well in search results
- they make it difficult to locate information quickly
- there is often duplicate content provided elsewhere on GOV.UK
- it is often better to improve existing content
Event transcripts
The only exception is when we are required to publish the transcript of a question and answer event, for transparency reasons.
- in this case, full details of the event would need to be provided
- the information should also be accompanied by well-structured guidance
