Since the change from PHE to UKHSA we frequently need to publish new UKHSA content on a PHE page.

1. The page needs to be retagged as UKHSA, a simple quick process for content editors. What it means for users is that the 'from' field under the page summary now reads 'From: UK Health Security Agency'.

2. All existing PHE documents on a page need to be either rebranded in the UKHSA template (onerous) or removed and replaced by a link to an archive of the page (simple).

What 'archiving' means

GOV.UK pages are continually recorded and stored to create a vast permanent ongoing archive.

All that 'archiving' means in practice is that we remove attachments to old PHE documents, replace them with the new UKHSA-branded documents, and write a link in the Details section at the bottom of to the most recent archived version of the page.

Users simple click this link to go to the archived page where they can access all the old PHE documents.

The Hepatitis C in England page is a good example.

When we published new UKHSA-branded documents, it meant replacing all the old PHE ones, and added this text and link in the Details section:

"Reports from previous years and the accompanying documents including the 2018 reports, infographics, slidesets and headline tables that provide additional information are available on the UK Government Web Archive."

Clicking this link takes users to the most recent archived page where they can easily access the old PHE reports.
