Planning images for GOV.UK
When planning a campaign or marketing activity, or news stories or press releases, you must consider GOV.UK at the planning stage and book in time with your designers to prepare suitable images.
You must supply images with the dimensions below.
If you are planning images for upload to a GOV.UK page, the image must be:
Width: 960 pixels
Height: 640 pixels
This is because:
- GOV.UK pages are designed to display effectively on all browsers and devices
- this is the optimal image size for both desktop and mobile
- this image size works with all different GOV.UK pages and publication types
Images must also be in landscape rather than portrait orientation.
Portrait images are not suitable for use on GOV.UK news stories.

How to check if your image is in the correct dimensions (Windows)
